We will be undergoing an extensive refurbishment from the 18th of December 2015.

We are opening on 22 November 2017 with a newly updated facility and increased Mental Health service.

Please visit essendonprivate.com.au for regular updates. Please note that this is not a Crisis Admission Service - for anything of an urgent nature please contact your local CATT service.
For enquiries regarding the opening of Essendon Private Clinic later in November please call (M) 0412 160 492

Discharge - During your stay, your doctor, nursing staff and if applicable, other healthcare professionals, will have ongoing discussions with you to help you plan your discharge. Should you have any concerns with your discharge planning, please discuss this with your nurse. If you require community services post discharge, the nursing staff will arrange these for you.

Discharge at Own Risk - You may discharge yourself from the hospital at any time. This may be a serious step when taken against the advice of your doctor and requires careful consideration. You are encouraged to discuss the implications of this with your doctor and nursing staff. If you decide to discharge yourself against advice, you will be required to sign a form disclaiming the hospitals responsibility for your action.

    Ambulance - Ambulance Transport can only be arranged at your doctors request, or you will be required to pay the transport fee direct to the Ambulance Service.

Infection control post-discharge: In the thirty-day period following your discharge from our hospital, we would ask that you contact our Infection Control Liaison Officer if you experience any of the following;

  • Urinary tract infection
  • Wound infection
  • Chest infection
  • Deep venous thrombosis (blood clot)
